I was a labor and delivery nurse for 25 years before I retired to Florida in 1999. My husband, Spencer took early
retirement from the fire department and we moved into the house he grew up in down here on gorgeous
Pass-A-Grille. We have 3 adult children - 2 sons and 1 daughter. Our sons are both military men. Our older son,
John is a officer in the Navy. He and his wife are parents of our precious granddaughter, Madison and her 2
brothers, Luke, and Riley. Our younger son, Samuel, is a Staff Sergeant in the Marine Corp and is currently
stationed in Alabama. Our daughter Laura (our baby) and husband John have made me a proud grandmother with
the birth of their son Jordan, I have been a "crafter" since early in our marriage but didn't discover Scrapbooking
until the late 1990's. I bought a Scrapbook "kit" and sat down and taught myself how to do it. I was hooked before I
finished the first page! Like most people, I have packets and packets of pictures and putting them into safe albums
and journaling about those pictures is a joy that I want to share with others.
So we put ourselves, and our husbands to work and opened our Scrapbook shop on Corey Ave. in beautiful St. Pete
Beach, Florida in Spring of 2002. Scrapbooking in Paradise was born. We just loved the area and all the shops and
of course being so close to the water was a nice bonus. So there we were, Mother and Daughter together running a
Scrapbooking store and just loving every minute of it. We made so many great friends and had so many great
times bonding. We started offering classes and brought on a couple of very talented gals to help us teach and
inspire. Scrapbooking just kept growing in popularity and the selection of products was growing also. Well we
needed more Paradise Gals to help in Paradise, so along came a couple more very talented gals.
Well in 2005 we had to sell the building that we had the shop in and leave the wonderful Corey area. We went to
work looking for a new location. We looked at many areas and buildings, but we found a location with over 4000
square feet and thought, yup we can fill this up with some products. And so we signed the paperwork and moved
into our newest location. It has much more room and Spencer was able to build a photography studio right inside
the store. We have come a long way since 2002 and have added many Paradise Gals to our family.
Our newest member is Laura's husband John, who decided in 2007 to come on board full time. We are so glad to
have him here.
